About the Role:
We are seeking a meticulous and safety-conscious Professional Driver to join our dynamic logistics team at our Protea Glen hub. This is a pivotal role responsible for the secure and timely delivery of goods, directly impacting customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a proactive ambassador for our company, ensuring every delivery is executed with professionalism and care.
Key Responsibilities:
· Delivery & Logistics Execution: Safely and efficiently transport and deliver goods to customers as per scheduled routes, strictly adhering to all road traffic regulations and company procedures.
· Vehicle Stewardship: Conduct comprehensive daily vehicle inspection checks (DVIR) prior to departure and upon return. Report any defects, damages, or maintenance requirements immediately to management to ensure fleet reliability and safety.
· Load Management: Actively supervise and assist with the loading and unloading of the vehicle. Ensure the vehicle is neatly and strategically packed to prevent damages, breakages, and to maximize safe load distribution.
· Documentation & Finance: Accurately manage all delivery documentation, obtaining necessary customer signatures and authorizations on delivery notes. Reliably handle and reconcile any Cash on Delivery (COD) monies collected during routes.
· Inventory Control: Verify and ensure the correct quantities, product types, and supplies are loaded and delivered as per order specifications, maintaining accuracy in all transactions.
· Customer Service Excellence: Provide exceptional service at point of delivery, building positive customer relationships and professionally representing the company’s brand and values.
· Cost & Efficiency Awareness: Contribute to operational cost-reduction initiatives by driving fuel-efficiently, minimizing vehicle wear-and-tear, and proposing improvements to delivery processes.
Minimum Requirements:
· Education: Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
· Licenses: A valid, unendorsed South African driver’s license – Code 10 (Heavy Vehicle) is essential for primary duties. A Code 8 (Light Vehicle) license is a required additional asset.
· Experience: A minimum of 2 years of proven, relevant experience in a professional driving role, specifically involving delivery operations and customer interaction.
· Physical Ability: Capable of handling the physical demands of the role, including loading/unloading assistance and prolonged driving.

· High level of integrity, especially in handling cash and paperwork.
