Position Summary:
We are looking for ten enthusiastic and reliable Shop Assistant Cashiers to join our Kimberly Junction team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of our customer interaction, ensuring efficient point-of-sale operations, accurate transactions, and a positive shopping experience. You will play a key part in promoting store promotions, enrolling customers in our loyalty program, and maintaining store standards, all while upholding the values and reputation of the Clicks brand.
Key Responsibilities and Job Objectives:
· Execute all point-of-sale (POS) operational activities efficiently and accurately, ensuring timely customer service.
· Accurately scan merchandise, handle cash securely, process payments, and administer clubcard rewards.
· Actively promote and enroll new members into the Clicks Clubcard to achieve participation targets.
· Inform customers about current promotions, deals, and product ranges to enhance their shopping experience and drive sales.
· Deliver superior customer service by acting as a brand ambassador, maintaining a visible, friendly, and professional demeanour.
· Perform merchandising tasks and general housekeeping duties according to store visual standards and operational requirements.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, promotions, and store events to provide accurate information to customers.
· Support overall store operations by adhering to stock management procedures and maintaining a tidy, safe, and welcoming store environment.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
Knowledge:
· Basic mathematical calculations for handling transactions.
· Understanding of retail/FMCG environments, including merchandising and promotional principles.
· Familiarity with stock management procedures is advantageous.
· Knowledge of customer service excellence standards.
Skills:
· Strong planning and organisational abilities.
· Effective problem-solving skills.
· A strong customer-oriented approach.
· Good verbal communication skills.
· Basic computer literacy for operating POS systems.
· Sound numeracy skills.
Core Competencies:
· Essential: Ability to build relationships and network, follow instructions and procedures meticulously, and deliver results that meet customer expectations.
· Desirable: Aptitude for working collaboratively in a team, persuading and influencing customers, planning and organising tasks efficiently, and coping with pressures and setbacks in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Requirements:
· Education: Grade 12 certificate is essential. A pass mark of 50% or higher in both Mathematics and English at the Grade 12 level is desirable.
· Experience: Previous experience in a customer-facing role within a retail or FMCG store operations environment is advantageous but not mandatory. A willingness to learn and a passion for retail are key.
