Receptionist Role Overview: The Heartbeat of Guest Experience

As a Receptionist at The Capital Hotels in Sandton, you will serve as the pivotal first and last point of contact for our guests, embodying our revolutionary culture in every interaction. Primary duties include conducting efficient and warm guest check-ins and check-outs, managing and accurately maintaining guest accounts throughout their stay, and processing all transactions with precision. You will be the go-to person for addressing and fulfilling special guest requests and needs, demonstrating creativity and resourcefulness. The role also involves assisting guests with reservation inquiries and bookings as required. You will act as a central information hub, coordinate with other departments like housekeeping and maintenance to ensure guest satisfaction, handle incoming calls and communications with professional etiquette, and maintain the秩序 and accuracy of the front desk area. Minimum Requirements for Candidates

A formal qualification in Hospitality or a similar field is required, coupled with one to two years of practical experience in a receptionist or front desk role, ideally within a hotel environment. Strong computer literacy is non-negotiable, with specific proficiency in MS Office Suite and a reputable Property Management System (PMS), with Protel experience being highly advantageous. You must demonstrate a hands-on, pragmatic problem-solving approach and possess the resilience to remain decisively calm under pressure, taking control of incidents effectively. The ability to work synergistically as part of a close-knit team, as well as autonomously with minimal supervision, is essential.
