We are seeking energetic and service-driven individuals to fill the vital role of Shop Assistant/Cashier (P27). This position is the heartbeat of our store operations, directly shaping the customer experience from the sales floor to the checkout. Your Key Responsibilities: A Day in the Role
Your primary objective is to deliver an exceptional and seamless shopping experience. Your daily duties will be diverse and engaging, split across five core areas:
- Customer Service Excellence:
· Proactively assist customers in locating products and making informed choices.
· Answer queries knowledgeably and handle any complaints with patience, empathy, and in line with company policy.
· Create a welcoming and helpful atmosphere on the shop floor. - Efficient Cashier Operations:
· Accurately and efficiently process cash, card, and other digital payments at the till point.
· Manage customer transactions for Lay-Bys, refunds, and exchanges.
· Maintain till integrity, perform balancing procedures, and report any discrepancies immediately to your supervisor. - Visual Merchandising & Store Presentation:
· Ensure the sales floor is always fully stocked, neatly organized, and visually appealing.
· Execute planograms, ensure correct pricing on shelves and products, and manage housekeeping standards.
· Stay informed about current promotions and sales to guide customers effectively. - Risk Awareness & Loss Prevention:
· Vigilantly assist in protecting store assets by correctly applying security tags as per policy.
· Participate in periodic stock take activities.
· Maintain awareness of store surroundings and report any suspicious behavior or potential theft to management. - Living the Ackermans Values:

Preferred Experience:
· Previous retail experience is highly advantageous but not mandatory. We provide comprehensive training for the right candidate with the correct attitude.
